Wolf's Den Forge™ is now offering several classes in the metal arts to include:
Blacksmithing
Blacksmithing I: Intro to Blacksmithing
The introduction class is taught in two parts consisting of two forging sessions on the same day with two distinct goals which are comprised of several techniques the student will learn. Each technique is the foundation for a future lesson.
Students will be taught single and double tapers, nearside and farside setdowns, isolating material, drawing out, and rounding, towards the goal of forging a leaf keychain.
Students will then be taught hole punching, drifting, multiple setdown forging, fullering, and accent punching with the goal of forging a bottle opener.
Additional Topics Covered:
*Lighting a coal forge
*Maintaining your fire
*Basic tool use and hammer technique's
*Basic decorative finishes
Intro to Blacksmithing Class is $150 per student.

Blacksmithing II

Bladesmithing
Bladesmithing I: Intro to Bladesmithing
It is suggested but not mandatory to take Intro to Blacksmithing before this class.
This class teaches the student to hand forge a single edge clip point knife with hardwood handle scales which they will keep at the conclusion of the class.
Students will learn to forge a tip on their blade, forge bevels, set a plunge line, then harden and temper their blade using the flame tempering method, then affix their handle scales to complete their knife.
Intro to Bladesmithing Class is $200 per student.

Bladesmithing II

Armoring
Armoring I: Intro to Armoring
This class teaches forge a Viking Helmet which they will keep at the conclusion of the class.
The student the basics of laying out, patterning, cutting pieces, forming, and rivetting plates together to form a finished project.

Individual classes are available as well as groups of up to 5. Individual instruction can be tailored to address any area in which you may need further instruction to advance your skills.
