The Serpent in the Seax - (4.19.2016)

Where I detail the steps in the creation of my first multi-core, patter welded Viking Seax. It consists of seven different steel cores, comprised of 49 different bars of steel, which are then forge welded together.
There is a cable damascus bar in the center which makes the serpent, two mild steel bars on either side which have had staggered triangles cut out of them. This main serpent core was then forged straight again, causing the cable damascus billet in the center to take on a wavy appearance.
Next, two billets of 22 layer twist damascus are forge welded to the serpent core, then two bars of 1075 high carbon steel for the cutting edge and spine.
